This class takes a deep dive into what it takes to succeed on the ACT. Participants will examine the tendencies of the ACT and learn general and content-specific strategies. Students will also gain valuable experience by working through problems from actual ACT tests.
Core Ballet

This class is designed for anyone in grades 7-12 who wants to improve ballet skills for strength, flexibility, accuracy, and artistry. This class will count for US Crain Hours and is required for Pre-Pointe. Leotard or form fitting top with black leggings or form fitting yoga pants, ballet skirt, with pink or skin-toned ballet shoes.
Destination Imagination (DI)
For girls and boys in grades 3-12
date/time: September - May as scheduled, Tournament dates TBD
instructor: Amanda Killen (DI TN Board Member & team manager) & Various Team Managers
cost: $300, plus tournament travel expenses
Build your creativity, design thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills on grade level teams. Teams solve one of six open-ended, STEAM-based challenges to present at tournaments. Teams will meet two afternoons per week and/or on Saturday mornings. Teams will present challenge solutions at the regional and state levels and commit to attending Global Finals if they advance from the state tournament. Pointe/Pre-Pointe

This class takes the dancer to the next level of strength, possibility, and commitment. Students must be taking MSDC and Core Ballet to attend. Leotard or form fitting top with black leggings or form fitting yoga pants, ballet skirt, with pink or skin-toned ballet shoes.

Portrait Drawing with Ms. Leake
For students in grades 7-12
date/time: Wednesdays, January 25-April 5 (no class 3/15); 3:30-4:45 pm

Whether you are just learning or are more advanced, improve your drawing skills. Move at your own pace and level of experience. The goal will be to understand the main principles of drawing the anatomy of the face as well as capturing a likeness.

SPRING>> January 25-April 5 (no class 3/15)
Develop creative concepts in clay. Learn the techniques of throwing on the wheel, hand building, and combining altered forms.
Private Music Lessons

Private lessons for 30 or 45 minutes in one or more instruments offered. All skill levels.

Upper School Dance Company
For girls and boys in grades 9-12

Develop contemporary movement and expression skills while earning fitness credit. Attend two classes per week to improve technique and acquire strength, mobility, and artistry in a collaborative atmosphere.
US Company members will choreograph and present dance pieces throughout the school year and perform in the dance concert on Tuesday, April 4 at 6:00 pm and the school matinee on Wednesday, April 5.
