Ballet 4
For girls in grade 4
School-year length course
date/time: Tuesdays & Thursdays, September 12-November 28 (no class 10/3, 10/31), and January 9-April 4 (no class 3/12, 3/14); 3:00-4:00 pm
instructor: Louisa Koeppel (Hutchison dance teacher) & Katy Stanfield (dancer and dance instructor)
cost: $850
Students in Ballet 4 continue to gain strength, agility, grace, and comradery in their dance and dance-making. Plain pink or black leotard with or without a skirt, pink or skin-toned ballet tights or black leggings, and pink or skin-toned ballet shoes are required.
Ballet students will perform in the dance concert on Thursday, April 4 at 6:00 pm and the school matinee on Friday, April 5.

Bee Notes Choir
For girls in grades K-1
date/time: Thursdays, September 14-November 30 (no class October 5 or November 23); 3:15-4:00 pm
instructor: Heather Short (EC and LS music teacher)
cost: $225
Learn vocal techniques for performances. This class gives students a strong foundation for the proper use of their vocal talent and the basics of choral singing. Space is limited.
*Bee Notes will perform at the Hutchison music concert on November 30 at 6:00 pm. Rehearsal times will be announced closer to the concert date. November

For girls in grades 3-6

instructor: Midtown Taekwondo instructor
cost: $225
Involve yourself in martial arts to learn discipline and skills that will help you in school and beyond. In the final class, students will test for stripes and belts. No uniform is required; however, you may wear your own uniform or purchase one through Midtown Taekwondo.

This class takes a deep dive into what it takes to succeed on the ACT. Participants will examine the tendencies of the ACT and learn general and content-specific strategies. Students will also gain valuable experience by working through problems from actual ACT tests.

Private Music Lessons
For girls and boys in grades K-12
Private lessons for 30 or 45 minutes in piano, violin, viola, or harp are offered. All skill levels. *You must have access to the instrument you are taking lessons for in order to practice outside of your lesson.
An email will go out to everyone once school starts with more information, as well as, dates and times available for lessons.

Quiz Bowl
For girls in grades 5-8
date/time: Thursdays, September 7-November 30 (no class October 5 or November 23); 3:45-4:45 pm
instructor: Robby Uhrman (Quiz Bowl Sponsor) and Amanda Muir (middle school English Teacher)
cost: $275
Do you enjoy academic trivia? Have a broad range of knowledge? Buzz in and answer questions from all areas of knowledge, including history, literature, science, fine arts, current events, popular culture, sports, and more. Quiz Bowl is a team competition, and this session is limited to two teams of girls. The goal for this class is to practice weekly and, eventually, to compete against other schools in an NAQT-sanctioned tournament in Gallatin, on October 21. Space is limited.

Soccer Shots

Hutchison Athletics offers a sports clinic program for Hutchison girls through the Center for Excellence to provide our girls with opportunities to explore athletics. The main goal of our sports clinics is to promote growth and enhance skill development. Because of our commitment to fostering growth throughout the program, girls are invited to participate regardless of skill level or experience.

Time to Tinker and Code
For girls in grades 1-4

instructors: Lucy Wesson (lower school science) & Jennifer Stover (lower school technology integrationist)
cost: $225
Spend time with Mrs. Stover and Ms. Wesson expanding your computer science skills. Girls will gain more experience coding with unplugged and plugged activities. The activities will promote an understanding of important universal coding concepts that can be applied to different applications. This class will allow girls to tinker with Tinkercad developing 3-D print designs and programming skills will be taught through Code.org. Girls can 3-D print bag tags, game pieces, and more. Join the fun of computer science!
