Inspirit AI offers an interdisciplinary, project-based artificial intelligence education taught by Stanford, MIT, and top university graduates.
In AI Pioneers, our emerging engineers will learn how to create projects for social good with Python programming language. Through hands-on coding, students will learn how computers can use data to solve complex problems like natural language processing and computer vision. Our students will explore how they can meaningfully use AI to predict heart disease, create social robots, assist with disaster relief, and navigate autonomous vehicles.
Our curriculum emphasizes ethical responsibility, career paths in artificial intelligence, and interdisciplinary applications! Develop valuable Python, machine learning, and artificial intelligence skills in our hands-on coding labs, using cutting-edge research to solve real-world problems like heart disease prediction, assistive technologies, and more.
Project-Based Learning
In our final capstone project, students will be able to apply their newly acquired talents in a collaborative, challenging environment, applying AI to an in-depth project. Examples include allocating resources for disaster relief, sketch recognition, or creating a website to recommend movies.

This camp will be themed around popular kid's cooking shows and popular movies, such as Cupcake Wars, Chopped Junior, and Harry Potter. Participants will create fun and tasty cupcakes on a Cupcake Wars-themed day. Participants will mimic Chopped Junior by working with their team to create a tasty dish with a mystery basket. Participants will be making some of their favorite movie foods come to life and so much more!

At frisbee golf camp, whoever has the most fun wins. Over the week, campers will learn the fundamentals of disc golf: rules of play, how to throw, and creative course design. Robby Uhrman, the camp director, has helped design courses in the Memphis area and competed in disc golf tournaments throughout the Southeast. Each camper will receive two discs they will take home: a putter and a midrange disc. Using an official regulation disc golf basket, campers will practice putting early on, and by the end of the week, campers will design on course of play and compete against one another.

This week-long camp will immerse students in the world of Greek and Roman mythology, with a focus on monsters and deities seen in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians TV series. Participants will discuss various myths from the series and will create arts and crafts and a few tasty treats related to these stories. Throughout the week, we’ll play games related to each myth and will even learn a few Latin words as we translate simple Latin stories about these characters. We’ll escape to a world of myths and monsters and will even write our own mythological tale about monsters that we’ll create.

Opera Memphis Summer Conservatory is a performance training program for Mid-South youth. Acceptance into the program is by audition only, and students are placed into appropriate
ensembles and roles based on vocal development. Students are asked to prepare one selection in classical vocal music style (aria, art song, or musical theatre). Please bring sheet music to the
audition for the accompanist. Other components of the audition will be script reading and vocal exercises. Auditions are free and open to potential students currently in the 6th through 12th
grades. Auditions are held on the following dates and are by appointment only. Places in the program are limited.

Conservatory Information
Summer Conservatory students spend two weeks preparing a complete production with a performance on the last evening. This year’s show is the operetta Once Upon a Hamster with music by Arthur Sullivan and words by Renee Davis Brame and Sarah Squire. Each student is given a role or roles within the show, and the two weeks are spent in vocal coaching and staging sessions. Workshops are presented on various aspects of performance production. The rehearsal process concludes with a fully staged performance on the evening of the final day of the Conservatory session.

Please note that this free summer class is being taught by one of our rising seniors, Emily Jackson, as part of her myExperience project at Hutchison’s Institute for Responsible Citizenship. Upper School girls in this program create a unique project in an area of personal interest and, in cases such as this one, conduct field research by teaching a curriculum that they have written. Emily will be in charge of the class day to day, while also being assessed and supervised by the Institute faculty, including Institute Director Nick Simpson.
