Week 3

Introduce young artists to a world of hands-on creativity! In this camp, kids will explore fun arts and crafts activities like designing jewelry, decorating headbands and accessories, and making their own crowns. Each day brings new projects where imagination leads the way — from colorful creations to playful designs. Perfect for our youngest campers who love to make, decorate, and create something special!

Based on the timeless animated film and hit Broadway show, Disney’s Aladdin JR. is filled with magic and thrills the whole family will enjoy. When street urchin Aladdin falls for the strong-willed Princess Jasmine, he gets help from a fun-loving Genie to outsmart the wicked Jafar and win her hand. Get on your flying carpet and join us on a soaring musical adventure!

Step into a world of retro-inspired, kid-friendly dessert drinks with a modern twist. Girl Pop-Ups is a summer intensive where campers engage in hands-on learning to build a brand, products, and pop-up designs through curriculum using the design-thinking model. Additionally, girls will receive advice from leaders in the field to assist in completing their mock soda fountain storefronts. Girls will walk away with their very own crafted dessert drink recipes and pop-up shop as a functional and fun keepsake to use in their business. At the end of the experience, campers will host a fun and interactive showcase of their decked-out and branded Soda Fountain Pop-ups featuring artistically-designed artwork handcrafted by them. Camp will conclude with a presentation and tasting, and families are invited to experience and shop a market-style showcase.

Uniquely You is an interactive fashion camp experience where
Participants will explore self-expression through fashion. Each camper will discover the power and symbolism of colors and what they mean to them and their personal style. Through creating custom looks, participants will learn creative ways to repurpose recycled clothing and accessories to develop new design styles. Campers will also focus on the value and significance of building self-confidence skills throughout the week. At the end of the camp, girls will showcase their unique custom outfits in a fashion show!

*Please note that this free summer class is being taught by one of our rising seniors, Lucy Belle Rounder, as part of her myExperience project at Hutchison’s Institute for Responsible Citizenship. Upper School girls in this program create a unique project in an area of personal interest and, in cases such as this one, conduct field research by teaching a curriculum that they have written. Lucy Belle will be in charge of the class day-to-day, while also being assessed and supervised by the Institute faculty.

The enchanting world of fairy tales comes alive in this immersive camp offering a blend of storytelling, creativity, and adventure, designed to captivate young imaginations.
Each day, campers will delve into classic stories, discovering beloved characters and timeless plots. Through interactive readings and discussions, children will gain a deeper appreciation for these narratives. Encouraging creativity, campers will craft their own fairy tales, developing storytelling skills and expressing their unique ideas. A variety of crafts and games inspired by fairy tales will bring stories to life, and hands-on activities will allow campers to construct castles, fostering teamwork and imaginative play.

Dive into a world of color, creativity, and artistic expression! In Picasso & Friends Painting Camp, campers will explore the styles and techniques of famous artists — from the bold shapes of Picasso to the vibrant expressions of other masters. Through guided projects, students will experiment with abstract art, color blending, and creative brushwork while discovering what makes each artist’s work unique. This camp encourages imagination, artistic exploration, and personal style as young artists paint, learn, and create masterpieces of their own!

Explore your creativity in clay and build your pottery skills while making whimsical and fun hand-building projects, such as toad houses, mugs, ornaments, and wind chimes. Also, try your hand at throwing on the wheel.  
Instructor: Kristi Duckworth (ceramist and painter)
Cost: $450, two-week camp

In this two-week course, you will learn all the fundamentals of wheel throwing and sculpting. Learn or expand your knowledge of the tools, materials, and techniques used in pottery making. No prior experience is necessary -- our instructor will be there to guide you through every step of the process. By the end of the camp, you will have the skills and confidence to create beautiful, functional, and unique pottery pieces of your own.

This camp invites young performers to bring an island to life through movement, storytelling, and ensemble play. Inspired by Peter Brown’s beloved novel, The Wild Robot, campers explore belonging, empathy, and community as they create a visually rich, collaborative performance filled with animal characters and imaginative design.
