This week-long camp will immerse students in the world of Greek and Roman mythology, with a focus on monsters and deities seen in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians TV series. Participants will discuss various myths from the series and will create arts and crafts and a few tasty treats related to these stories. Throughout the week, we’ll play games related to each myth and will even learn a few Latin words as we translate simple Latin stories about these characters. We’ll escape to a world of myths and monsters and will even write our own mythological tale about monsters that we’ll create.

Please note that this free summer class is being taught by one of our rising seniors, Emily Jackson, as part of her myExperience project at Hutchison’s Institute for Responsible Citizenship. Upper School girls in this program create a unique project in an area of personal interest and, in cases such as this one, conduct field research by teaching a curriculum that they have written. Emily will be in charge of the class day to day, while also being assessed and supervised by the Institute faculty, including Institute Director Nick Simpson.
