ACT and SAT Prep
For girls and boys in grades 10-12

This class takes a deep dive into what it takes to succeed on both the ACT and SAT. Participants will examine the tendencies of the tests and learn general and content-specific strategies. Students will also gain valuable experience by working through problems from actual tests.

Ballet 3
For girls in grade 3School-year length course
Dates/Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays, September 3-November 19 (no class on 10/8), and January 7-April 1 (no class on 3/11) from 3:00-4:00 pm
Instructor: Louisa Koeppel (Hutchison dance teacher)
Cost: $850
Students in Ballet 3 continue to gain strength, agility, grace, and comradery in their dance and dance-making. Plain pink or black leotard with or without a skirt, pink or skin-toned ballet tights or black leggings, and pink or skin-toned ballet shoes are required.
Ballet students will perform in the Dance Concert on Tuesday, April 1 at 6:00 pm and the school matinee on Wednesday, April 2. Rehearsals will tentatively be on Thursday 3/27, Friday 3/28, and Monday 3/31.

Bee Notes Choir
For Hutchison girls in grades K-1
Dates/Time: Thursdays, January 9-March 27 (no classes 3/13) from 3:15-4:00 pm
Instructor: Heather Short (EC and LS music teacher)
Cost: $250
Learn vocal techniques for performances. This class gives students a strong foundation for the proper use of their vocal talent and the basics of choral singing. Choirs will sing at a Memphis Redbirds Game closer to the end of the spring semester. Space is limited.
*Bee Notes will perform at the Hutchison Music Concert on April 3 at 6:00 pm. Rehearsal will be on April 2 and the time will be announced closer to the rehearsal date.

Cheer and Tumbling
For Hutchison girls in JK

Instructor: Morgan Lincoln and Ms. Alexa (DC Dragons Cheer Coaches)
Cost: $240 (includes cheer t-shirt)
Cheer and Tumbling class is designed to introduce young children to the fundamentals of cheerleading and basic gymnastics in a fun and engaging environment. In this class, JK girls will learn essential skills such as coordination, balance, and strength through age-appropriate tumbling exercises, jumping techniques, and cheer routines. With a focus on teamwork, creativity, and self-confidence, the program encourages social interaction and helps develop listening skills while fostering a love for movement and fitness.

Every child needs a creative outlet!
Crafting allows creative interests to blossom using different materials, colors, tools, and mediums. Weekly crafts are age appropriate with guided instruction and assistance.

Middle School Dance Company

Middle School Dance Company focuses on modern dance and creative ballet with an emphasis on dance-making and ensemble performance.

Private Music Lessons
For girls and boys in grades K-12
Private lessons for 30 or 45 minutes in piano, violin, viola, voice, or harp are offered—all skill levels. Students who took lessons in the fall have priority for the spring semester. If you are interested in your child starting lessons please contact afterschool@hutchisonschool.org to learn of the open lesson spots.
*You must have access to the instrument you are taking lessons for to practice outside of your lesson.

SEW Fancy II
For girls in 1-3 grades who took SEW Fancy in the fall semester

An introductory sewing course taught by Miss Emily Cantrell of Bloom Studios. This is the next step in the SEW Fancy curriculum and will continue to cover the basic mechanics of operating a sewing machine, embroidery, using patterns, and hand stitching.

Hutchison Athletics offers a sports clinic program for Hutchison girls through the Center for Excellence to provide our girls with opportunities to explore athletics. The main goal of our sports clinics is to promote growth and enhance skill development. Because of our commitment to fostering growth throughout the program, girls are invited to participate regardless of skill level or experience.

Strings Choir
For girls in grades 5-12
Date/Time: Thursdays, January 9-March 27 (no classes 3/13) from 3:45-4:45 PM
Instructor: Zoe Johnson (strings instructor)
Cost: $315
The Strings Choir will learn music theory, and composition, and rehearse music to be performed during the strings lesson recital. Students will learn a variety of repertoire, including classical compositions, contemporary works, and arrangements of popular music. A strings choir is a musical ensemble primarily composed of string instruments, such as violins, violas, cellos, and double basses. The rich, warm tones of string instruments allow for a diverse range of dynamics and expressions. The unity and depth of sound created by the combination of various string instruments offer a unique listening experience that highlights the beauty of string music.
*Students must have at least one year of experience playing a stringed instrument.

Time to Tinker and Code
For girls in grades 1-4
Dates/Time: Thursdays, January 9-March 27 (no classes 3/13) from 3:15-4:00 pm
Instructors: Lucy Wesson (lower school science) & Jennifer Stover (lower school technology integrationist)
Cost: $250
Spend time with Mrs. Stover and Ms. Wesson expanding your computer science skills. Girls will gain more experience coding with unplugged and plugged activities. The activities will promote an understanding of important universal coding concepts that can be applied to different applications. This class will allow girls to tinker with Tinkercad developing 3-D print designs and programming skills will be taught through Code.org. Girls can 3-D print bag tags, game pieces, and more. Join the fun of computer science!
