  • Ballet 2

    For girls in 2nd grade
    Dates/Time: Mondays, September 8-December 8 (no class 10/6 or 11/24) from 3:00-4:00 PM
    • Rehearsal for Nutcracker: December 10 from 2:15-4:30 PM
    • The Nutcracker Performance: December 11
    Instructor: Louisa Koeppel (Hutchison dance teacher)
    Cost: $350
    Ballet 2 reinforces and expands the ballet experience through classical technique, creativity, and dance-making. Plain pink or black leotard with or without a skirt and pink or skin-toned ballet shoes are required.

    The fall session of Ballet will conclude with a performance of The Nutcracker on Thursday, December 11, and rehearsal will tentatively be on Wednesday, December 10, for 2nd-grade dancers.
  • Basketball Free Clinic

    For girls in grades K-4
    Date/Time: Mondays and Wednesdays, August 18, 20, 25, and 27 from 3:30-4:15 PM on Mondays and 2:30-3:15 PM on Wednesdays

  • Bee Sharp Choir

    For girls in grades 2-4
    Date/Time: Tuesdays, September 9-November 18 (no class 10/7) from 3:15-4:15 PM
    Concert Rehearsal: Wednesday, December 3, 2:15-3:15 PM
    Performance: Fall Choral Concert on Thursday, December 4

    Enhance your vocal skills and perform at the fall choral concert.
  • Cheerleading

    For girls in grades 2-4
    Date/Time: Wednesdays, September 10-November 19 (no class 10/8) from 2:15-3:15 PM
    Coach: Coach Morgan (DC Dragons Cheer Coaches)
    Cost: $260
    Hutchison Lower School cheerleading combines elements of dance, gymnastics, and stunts. Coaches focus on teamwork, coordination, and spirit, helping build confidence and develop athletic skills.
  • Colorful Creators

    For girls in grades 2-4
    Date/Time: Tuesdays, September 9-November 18 (no class 10/7) from 3:15-4:15 PM
    Instructor: Martha Berge (lower school art teacher)

    Learn drawing and painting techniques, create multi-media art, sculpture, weaving, and collage.
  • Crochet

    For girls in grades 1-2
    Date/Times: Tuesdays, August 19, 26, and September 2 from 3:15-4:00 pm
    Instructor: Alyssa Villareal (Academic Dean & crochet enthusiast)

  • Fiber Art Workshop

    For girls in grades 1-4
    Date/Time: Tuesdays, September 9-November 18 (no class 10/7) from 3:30-4:30 pm
    Instructor: Dana Harris (artist and MS art teacher)
    Cost: $275
    Learn the technique of wet felting, which is the process of agitating wool fibers with soap and water to create felt. Each child will design, wet felt, and create a handmade felted flower pin and butterfly that will be beautifully displayed in a shadow box.

    For girls in grades K-2

    Join us for an action-packed after-school adventure filled with awesome board games, team challenges, and exciting group activities! From classic favorites to new discoveries, we've got games that will keep everyone engaged and smiling. Led by teachers who love to play, our club creates a welcoming space where every student can discover new favorites and have a blast with their peers. Come play with us!
  • Mahjong

    For girls in grades 2-4
    Date/Time: Mondays, September 8-November 17 (no class 10/6) from 3:15-4:15 PM
    Instructor: Hope Covington
    Cost: $255
    Join us for an exciting Mahjong class where players of all skill levels can immerse themselves in the intricate world of this classic Chinese game! Throughout the class, participants will learn the rules, strategies, and nuances of Mahjong through hands-on play, crafts, and friendly competitions.
  • Midtown Taekwondo

    For girls in grades 2-6
    Date/Time: Tuesdays, September 9-November 18 (no class 10/7); 3:45-4:30 pm
    Instructor: Mrs. Volner (Midtown Taekwondo instructor)
    Cost: $300

    Involve yourself in martial arts to learn discipline and skills that will help you in school and beyond. A gi is not required; however, you may wear your own gi or purchase one through Midtown Taekwondo.
  • Pottery

    For girls in grades 2-4
    Date/Time: Wednesdays, September 10-November 19 (no class 10/8) from 2:10-3:20 PM
    Instructor: Kristi Duckworth
    Cost: $295
    Develop creative concepts in clay. Learn the techniques of throwing on the wheel, hand building, and combining altered forms.
  • Project Pottery: Gingerbread Houses

    For girls in grades 2-4
    Date/Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays, December 2, 4, 9, and 11 from 3:15-4:30 pm
    Instructor: Kristi Duckworth (ceramist & painter)
    Cost: $205
    Craft works of art that are beautiful and practical. Hand-build projects from clay or mosaics.
  • Quickstart Tennis

    For girls in K-2
    Dates/Time: Wednesdays, 2:30-3:15 pm
    Instructor: Monique Woog (tennis coach)
    Cost: $180 per session
    FALL I >> September 3-October 15 (no class on 10/8)
    FALL II >> October 22-December 3 (no class on 11/26)
    The Quickstart Academy will use the teaching method of Quickstart tennis, a program aimed at helping kids in kindergarten, first, and second grade, learn the game of tennis. Using a smaller court, net, racquet, and larger foam tennis balls, the Quickstart method makes the game of tennis easily accessible to younger players.

    **Each student will need to bring their own tennis racquet for this class.
  • Ready, Set, Create Holiday Edition

    For girls in grades K-2
    Date/Time: Tuesdays, September 9-November 18 (no class 10/7) from 3:15-4:15 PM
    Instructor: Heather Fontana (kindergarten teacher)
    Cost: $260
    Explore your imagination and learn tools to focus creativity with the creative process in this fun, project-based class.
  • Tech Explorers (Formerly Time to Tinker and Code)

    For girls in grades 1-4
    Dates/Time: Thursdays, September 4-November 20 (no class 10/9, or 10/30) from 3:15-4:00 PM
    Instructors: Jennifer Stover (lower school technology integrationist)
    Cost: $225
    This hands-on class is designed for students who are eager to explore the realms of coding, 3D printing, LEGO robotics, and more. By fostering creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration through engaging projects and challenges, students will develop essential skills that prepare them for the future of innovation.
